Subject: "Politicians: Stop messing with us"

hi Vinay (Mr. Menon),

i REALLY! liked ur article, 2day:
PURFECT! in every way.

LUV!ed it.

2things i my antennae did pick up on
that U mentioned
was the "abyss" and
"a new of kind of politics".

the underlying thought b-ing
that "new of kind of politics"
will lead us away from the "abyss"
and POINT us IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

i wholeheartedly agree with this scenario.

i remember talking 2French-Canadian journalists
who were covering the Quebec Sponsorship Scandal
who were SOooo .... SOooo .... DISCOURAGED.

i emphasized how important their work they were doing
was FOR THE PUBLIC RECORD that could be used as a REFERENCE POINT
later on ...

as USELESS as that inquiry may have seemed:
it did exonerate Jean Chrétien, Paul Martin, and Stéphane Dion (
ALL! QUEBECERS) who claimed they weren't in on it.

just the same.

the CASH-STUFFED! ENVELOPES
in restaurants
is something that came up AGAIN! with Mulroney.

journalists N-E-E-D 2ASK (the Gov't) THE QUESTIONS:
how can you JUSTIFY this?
where is the LOGIC here?
the supporting evidence?
is this just ideology?

THE GOOD NEWS
from *my* perspective
is that WE ARE GETTING THERE.

we are making progress.

WE CAN AVOID THE ABYSS.

it will take "a new kind of politics".

in the meantime,
we are in for a HILARIOUS! RIDE
as OLD-SCHOOL POLITICIANS try
to BS their way thru another election ...

and Dhalia Ruby is running for office - again -
in spite of the NANNY SCANDAL - OMG! <grin>

the TorStar has promised to counter the BS
with FACTUAL RESISTANCE.

sounds good.

the fun is only beginning.

there's going 2b PLENTY OF LAFS
in store for journalists - just wait'n'see. (lol)

thx!4 the article:
it made MY! day.

cheers!
