This
HUGH! GOV'T APPARATUS built
around Vancouver
Community Court housed in a BRAND NEW! multi-million
FACILITY (by Main Street Vancouver Police Station) will
NOT! give the POOR a penny more.
The MONEY SPENT on this USELESS! APPARATUS
doesN'T solve THE PROBLEM of the Poor: they need
MORE! MONEY.
The need MORE! MONEY so they can live *decently*;
so they can have a chance of building a future; so they
can start to believe in themselves once again; so they
can give themselves a better tomorrow; so they can
start dreaming of getting back on their feet and reintegrate
into society by working at a job like everyone else.
MAKING ZOMBIES out of them by MEDICATING THEM
to the gills is NOT! THE SOLUTION though the psychiatrists,
pharmaceutical companies, along with others in *THE
SYSTEM* would like to make Canadians believe it is.
The money spent on Vancouver Community Court would have
been better spent by giving the Poor what they need the most:
MORE! MONEY.
And what has the Gov't done?
The Gov't has TAKEN! away their future, DEPRIVED! them
of a BETTER! TOMORROW so they live in a STATE OF
CONSTANT CRISIS which causes them to sleep a lot of
the time as a means of coping with their desperation.
Obviously, the POOR! in BC - like in the rest of Canada -
are VICTIMS of a senseless, HEARTLESS *self-serving*
GOV'T.
The one word to decribe this kind of Gov't is MONSTROUS!
Making the POOR Work for FREE!
===========================
The Gov't wants to round up the derelicts of Vancouver's
Downtown Eastside skid row and bring before the Vancouver
Community Court which will then *FORCE* THEM to do
"community service" like cleaning up the neighbourhood,
working in community kitchens, and dining rooms (Which
ones? There are less than handful.), cleaning up and
maintaining roads and community gardens.
That's the thinking, the "raison d'être", behind the Vancouver
Community Court.
This means they'll be charged by the Vancouver Police either
with mischief or loitering or something or other to get them
before a community court judge who will *ORDER* THEM to
do "community service".
The POOR and Homeless *forced* to live in HELLISH
CONDITIONS in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside! will
NOW! be *forced* to WORK for the GOV'T - FOR
FREE?
It's the GOV'T WHACKED! or what?
Who's running the *fine* City of Vancouver
and the BC Gov't?
QUACKS?
The BOTTOM! LINE
===============
Essentially, all this Vancouver Community Court stuff is ALL!
about the Gov't *PRETENDING* TO CARE and nothing more.
This is clear when one looks at the so-called Vancouver Harm
Reduction Program which seems to be more MAKE! BELIEVE
than anything else: it comes across as a CLASSIC CASE of
the Gov't PRETENDING - almost - NOTHING is - in fact -
QUITE A BIT.
Vancouver's Harm Reduction Program Hoax:
Catholic Church+Media DoN'T Care
============================
When I asked for assistance from the Vancouver Catholic
Church, the Bishop's Office gave me two (2) sheets of paper:
one (1) indicating where I could get a FREE meal; the other
indicating where the FEW! shelters for men were.
(The Bishop's assistant told me NOT! to bother them for
anything else and on another occasion made it clear they
were NOT! going to help me any further. Sorry.)
This is what I learned when in Vancouver LAST YEAR from
mid-April till the beginning of July.
Basically, there is VERY! LITTLE RESOURCES that the
Homeless can depend on.
In fact, Vancouver can accomodate *LESS THAN* 500
homeless men foodwise and shelterwise.
The situation for women might even be WORST!
What's ABSOLUTELY STUNNING is the fact that NONE!
of the resources are co-ordinated and are for the most
part volunteer-based: the City of Vancouver is NOT! directly
INVOLVED WHATSOEVER! - except in the case of two (2)
community centres and the Vancouver Injection Clinic
http://eh-ok.ca/injection.htm
which is next door to the Carnegie Community Centre.
By the way, Mr. Harpers wants to close Vancouver Injection
Clinic because he and the Police want to treat drug addiction
as a criminal problem rather than a health problem which it is.
What I find SHOCKING! is the fact that this INTOLERABLE!
SITUATION for the Homeless is NOT! denounced neither by
Vancouver's largest Church, the Vancouver Catholic Church
nor any other religious denomination for that matter and the
media people are FINE! with this.
Who cares?
They doN'T!
One things is for sure: taxes are NOT! going up because the
Gov't is doing MORE! for the Poor.
THE PROBLEM is
NOT! the Homeless,
NOT! the Poor,
NOT! Poverty.
THE PROBLEM IS *THE GOV'T*.
THE GOV'T *IS* THE PROBLEM.
Bad, irresponsible, morally reprehensible Gov't.
ONLY! Two (2)
Vancouver Community Centres Serve the POOR
==============================
=======
NEITHER OFFER MUCH: the Gathering Place
http://www.dtes.ca/cms/index.cfm?group_id=2921
downtown off Granville Avenue and the Caregie Centre
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnegie_Centre
at the heart of Downtown Eastside Vancouver.
72 Inexpensive Meals - MAX!
======================
The one (1) downtown, the Gathering Place Community
Centre, located at 609 Helmcken Street, (on the same
block, but behind Granville Avenue) offers exactly 32
inexpensive meals: once in the morning, once at noon,
once at night.
The other, the NOTORIOUS! Carnegie Centre Community
Centre located at 401 Main Street (at the corner of Main and
Hastings, KEY DRUG DISTRIBUTION SPOT for Vancouver)
serves 40 inexpensive meals: once in the morning, once
at noon, once at night.
In all, the City of Vancouver ONLY! subsidizes 72 meals:
THAT'S IT! (THAT'S - ALMOST - NOTHING! isN'T it?)
So much for the *so-called* City of Vancouver's "harm
reduction program", eh? NO! - BIG - BUCKS involved
here. <grin>
FREE! Services for a $1
===================
For a dollar yearly membership, the HOMELESS can use
the facilities: I bought a membership at both places so I
could use their *small* computer room and print a few pages
for FREE! (This membership card requirement allows the
Police to track the persons using the facilities.)
At the Gathering Place the homeless can have their clothes
washed for FREE and use the computers in the small
computer room and print off a few pages for FREE, use the
TV and weight room, watch a FREE movie every Thursday
evening and get their haircut - *IF* the person decides to
show up which - when I was there was NOT! very often.
Many of the VOLUNTEERS are on probation and doing Court-
imposed community service. As a result, they doN'T always
show up when they're supposed to.
Carnegie Centre Community Centre unlike the Gathering
Place houses a branch of the Vancouver library. It also has
a small computer room on the third floor, and various areas
where people can sit around inside and outside on the patio
as well as aboard room and a class room both of which are
located on the third floor.

SCANDAL! Regarding Vancouver City Volunteers
=======================================
The Vancouver City LITERATURE regarding their treatment
of volunteers at both these community centres are nothing,
but boldface LIES!
The City of Vancouver literature states that the volunteers
are taken on excursions and out to public restaurants - montly.
Where are the pictures on the bulletin boards to confirm that.
There areN'T any.
What a volunteer will get FAR LESS: a few measly cafeteria
meal tickets at the end of the month *IF* they showed up ALL!
the time.
Clearly, it's NOT! surprising that lack the necessary volunteers
in order to be able to offer the various services: if the volunteers
doN't show, NO! service. For example, if the volunteer assigned
to the Computer Room doesN'T show up, NO ONE can use the
Computer Room. This happened several times to me at the
Carnegie Centre.
When it comes to treating its volunteers *properly* at these
two community centres that cater especially to Vancouver's
POOR and Homless, the City of Vancouver does what?
It LIES!
It *consistently - it seesm - PRETENDS! to be doing MORE!
than it actually does.
Mens' Shelters: A HORROR! Story
===========================
1. Catholic Charities Men's Hostel
It is 95-bed facility located at 828 Cambie Street in Downtown
Vancouver just off Robson Street (next to the Bishop's office):
a homeless person has to REGISTER EARLY in the day for
a bed at night. Apparently, it has no lockers and bed bugs are
a constant problem; it looks old and run-down from the outside.
2. Belkin House http://www.belkinhouse.ca/facility.php
The Salvation Army has a BRAND NEW downtown building,
Belkin House is just a block from the Holy Rosary Cathedral
on Dunsmuir Street, a few block up from Grenville. To stay
there you have to be admitted to one (1) of their programs by
a social agency and you're obliged to participate in the program
in order to stay there. It's THE ONLY! DECENT LODGING a
homeless man can expect in the City of Vancouver.
The only other really decent shelter besides Belkin House is
the Hyland House in Surrey, a 35-bed facility.
http://www.options.bc.ca/program_info.php?program_id=27
EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS!
3. First Baptist Church
It is located at 969 Burrard Street http://www.burrardstreet.com
downtown Vancouver at the corner of Nelson and Burrard,
three (3) blocks up from Granville Avenue.
It can accommodate 30 men with floor mats after the FREE!
9 p.m.Monday meal. Those that sleep over will also get a
FREE! breakfast at 6 a.m.
4. Anchor of Hope http://www.salvationarmy.ca/2006/02/09/anchor%E2%80%99s-of-hope-for-the-homeless
It's located at 134 Cordova Street East in Vancouver's Gas
Town just next door to Downtown Eastside Vancouver.
This seeding-looking Salvation Army shelter can accomodate
50 people with floor mats.
Besides that, there's NOT much else.
Tent City for the Homeless Needed in Vancouver
=====================================
It is important to note that on August 11sth 2008 Housing and
Social Development Minister Rich Coleman said that Vancouver
has a place for every homeless person. "There is room at the
shelters. Our shelters run at about 90-per-cent capacity."
This was his response to the demand made by the Homeless
for a tent city in Vancouver because due to a LACK! of shelter
space for the Homeless.
http://www.streamsofjustice.org/2008/08/vancouver-can-shelter-all-homeless.html
Is there ENOUGH space for the Homeless or NOT?
Who's lying?
<

Gov't RUSE used with the Poor
========================
The Gov't alway likes to speak in terms of the MILLIONS OF
DOLLARS spent to help the Poor and Homeless when asked
what's being done for these VULNERALBLE PERSONS.
And it does so CONVINCINGLY and even WITH GUSTO
especially when it's the Liberal Party.
It THROWS FIGURES AROUND *WITHOUT* SPECIFICS.
to convey the FALSE! IMPRESSION that the Gov't cares
and is doing something about it.
It's just a RUSE, a TRICK.
Remember how the Prime Minister Mulroney in the early 1980s
PROMISED! - WITH A LOT OF MEDIA FANFARE - that the
Gov't of Canada was going to accomplish its goal of NO! CHILD
POVERTY - WITHIN 20 years.
What was done - over this 20-year period - to end child poverty?
NOTHING!
Absolutely NOTHING!
What's being done - NOW?
AGAIN! N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
The Gov't LIED! then and continues to LIE! now.
Is this GOOD, RESPONSIBLE Gov't?
It's THE SHITS!
City of Vancouver Evicted Low-Rent Tenants from 10 Hotels
==============================================
The City of Vancouver purchase of 10 low-rent hotels to be
refurbished + offered to budget-sensitive tourist for the Vancouver
2010 Winter Olympics has greatly aggravated the shelter situation.
BOYCOTT! the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics
======================================
Given the CARELEES TREATMENT OF THE HOMELESS AND
THE POOR by the Gov't, the ÉPC
(Égalité Party of Canada) is
calling upon the World to BOYCOTT! the Vancouver 2010 Winter
Olympics.
FREE! FOOD
(A) FREE! Food: A Church Affair
=========================
1. St. Paul's Anglican Church Food Bank http://www.stpaulsanglican.bc.ca
It's at 1130 Jervis Street just off Davie Street which is the centre of
the Gay
District of Vancouver in the West End.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davie_Village
It opens every Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Half the stuff they give out makes little sense: bread, but no
margarine; cereal, but no milk; no meat ever, etc.
Once I got a tin with only Chinese lettering on it and was told
"DON'T COMPLAIN: IT'S FREE!" It turned out to be squid
in some sort of strange milk white liquid. YACK!
Because it's the only Food Book around in downtown
Vancouver serving single people, there's alway a LONG
LINEUP. This inevitably means those at the back of the
line get a fraction of what those at the front of the line get.
2.Union Gospel Mission (Baptist Church) http://www.ugm.ca
The $7 million donation-based operation located at 616 Cordova
Street East serves both men and women, but separately. (For
women, there's the Union Gospel Mission, Women's Drop-In
at 601 Hastings Street East). They're about a mile from the
Carnegie Community Centre at Main and Hastings.
They have a modest addiction program for men who can live
there and work in the kitchen.
They offer two (2) meals in the evening serving 100 tasty
hot meals - each time - at 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. after a
30-minute service given by various Vancouver Baptist
churches often providing music and singing. The Union
Gospel Mission will NOT accept any person who is drunk
or high on drugs.
(The Union Gospel Mission also has a community residencial
tower for the Poor in downtown Vancouver next door to the
Gathering Place Community.)
2. United Church http://www.firstunited.ca
The United Church at 20 Hastings Street East on the other
side of Main Street from the Carnegie Community Centre
seems to be the PREFERRED SPOT for the derelicts who
are stoned or drunk. It serves about 70 meals.
Unfortunately, they may be closing their doors due to a lack
of support in the community.
3. Gospel Church
It's a few blocks before the Carnegie Community Centre on
Hastings and smack in the middle of skid row.
This very seedy-looking building is run-down, but it has
convenient street-level access.
They serve a meal after their 30-minute 9 p.m. service.
4. Franciscan Sisters http://www.thedoorisopen.ca
The Francisan Sister on Cardova Street, two (2) blocks from
the Vancouver Main Street Police Station serve soup and
sandwiches to about 30 to 45 people though their website
says 400: that's just NOT possible because the place is
SO! SMALL. They don't have the room for more than 50
persons. Perhaps, the Sister inadvertently added an EXTRA
zero to 40, perhaps. <grin>)
They are known to give clothes to people who obviously
need them when they show up for soup and sandwiches
and are well loved by the community.
Unfortunately, they are only open A FEW DAYS A WEEK:
NOT! every day.
5. Central Presbyterian Church http://www.centralchurchvancouver.ca
They're located at 1155 Thurlow Street - just behind St. Paul's
Hospital on Burrard Street, three (3) blocks up from Granville
Avenue.
It offers a monthly Sunday 8 a.m. breakfast the last week
of the month just before the people receive their welfare
cheque to 200+ persons.
6. First Baptist Church
It's located at 969 Burrard Street http://www.burrardstreet.com
downtown Vancouver at the corner of Nelson and Burrand,
three (3) blocks up from Granville Avenue.
It serves a very good hot meal at 9 p.m. to 120+ homeless
persons : meal tickets are given out at 8 p.m. along with
3 pieces of soft toffee candy.
(B) FREE! Food: on the Sidewalk
==========================
1. Muslim Food Convoy
It consists of tow (2) small cars and a panel truck parked
outside the Carnegie Centre on Hastings Street. Four (4)
or more persons serve a warm meal with orange juice to
about 60 Street People about 9:30 p.m. many Fridays:
they're VERY! friendly, helpful, understanding, efficient,
and sincere.
2. Baptist Panel Truck
A Baptist panel truck will put up on Hastings across from
the Carnegie Community Centre sometimes around 8 p.m.
on Friday to offer something to eat and drink. It'll serve
about 30+ Street People.
3. Sikh Yellow School Bus
It arrives every three weeks or so with a lot of young people
who are laughing and smiling and parks on Hastings not too
far from the Carnegie Community Centre. They offer brown
bag lunches to the Street People.
4. Ragtag Catholic Street Group
A few adults along with several young people make up this
group. They will go down Hastings Street offering smiles,
hugs, sometimes candy and socks around 8 p.m. on most
Fridays. The individuals vary: the are NOT always the same
people. It's clearly a HALFHEARTED EFFORT on the part
of the Catholic Church. The women who are Street People
like to see them and talk to them. The men tend to ignore
them all together.

BINNING: a Self-help Affair
=====================
In Vancouver there are individuals who work 24x7 going from
bin to bin picking up bottles that they'll return to the Bottle
Depot on Hastings Street right in the middle of skid row.
After about 10 hours of work the person using his grocery
cart will have picked up enough bottles to earn about
$15 to buy his ONE BIG MEAL of the day.
Unfortunately, the Vancouver Police will come around 10 p.m.
and arbitrarily pick up one grocery cart that it puts in the back
of the Police truck after scattering the person's person contents
all over the street leaving the Street Person angry and upset
and the Police smiling. I saw this *routinely* happen.
I talked to one such person who had the papers to prove
that cart was rightfully his: the Vancouver Police still took
his cart away from him putting an end to his binning days.
He was doing alright for himself thanks to that cart because
he could go binning: collecting bottles in the City bins.
$1 Pizzas
========
The Homeless and Poor in Vancouver survive on $1 pie-shaped
pieces of pizzas.
I bought mine at the corner of Granville and Helmcken near
the Gathering Place Community Centre.
The Dangerous *HABIT* of 3-day FASTS
================================
Because the Homeless and the POOR have NO! MONEY
they get into the habit of eating every three (3) days because
after 24 hours a person forgets s/he's hungry. EATING SO!
LITTLE affects the ability to think clearly and to keep track
of time.
Drugs in Downtown Eastside Vancouver: Myth versus Reality
===============================================
According to a fairly recent and major sociological study of the
area only one (1) in four (4) persons has a drug problem: the
drug problem is NOT as widespread as it is commonly believed.
Drug addiction needs to be seen as a health problem rather
than a criminal matter that benefits the judiciary system at
GREAT EXPENSE of BOTH the Canadian taxpayer and the
addicted individual.
We know today that THE PROBLEM is POVERTY, NOT!
addiction. The addition is driven by HOPELESS! POVERTY
and the ACCOMPANYING STRESS.
The POVERTY *forces* people to commit crime and become
SEX-TRADE WORKERS in order to survive.
Undercover COPS Sell Drugs?
=======================
It's true undercover cops sell drugs right in front of Carnegie
Community Centre including Mexican undercover cops who
come to participate in the security aspects of Vancouver
2010 Winter Olympics: A GOLD MINE for Cops who will
make tons of overtime.
And they pocket the money. This is common knowledge.
But I saw too with my very own eyes.
I also saw a tall smart-looking tall Chinese guy sell drugs
right in front of the Carnegie Centre as well and boy was
he SLICK.
The Chinese will not get caught for two (2) reasons: the
Chinese now use their intelligence people - in my opinion -
to ensure that any criminal activity the Canadian Chinese
ommunity is involved in goes undetected. I saw this myself.
And because the NEW! Police Chief of Vancouver Police
is from Mainland China. He became Chief after becoming
Deputy Chief. This is ODD! When looking for a NEW!
Chief the local Police Force will go looking for one from
outside the Force which is what they Ottawa Police does.
In my view NONE! of this is surprising given that NO! Gov't
employee goes to jail, every Gov't organization has its own
internal mafia beit a hospital, college, university, Police force,
military base, etc. And where the ABUSE OF THE PUBLIC
PURSE is particularly BAD! there will always be found a
non-consenting culture of sexual exploitation of women
of which my wife was a victim and for which I had to
suffer the consequences.
The Gov't is 100% CROOKED in the view of the ÉPC BY
DESIGN.
To solve this the ÉPC is proposing 100% CLEAN! Gov't
that the people can police themselves financially using
the Internet and find out for themselves who are making
the financial decisions in the Gov't and who is benefiting
from the finincial decisions - Bay Street Organized Crime
- rumour has it.
Final Analysis
===========
When EVERYTHING! is taken into account Vancouver's Harm
Reduction Program along with the Downtown Eastside Community
Court is nothing more than SCAM! DESIGNED to make Canadians
believe that the Gov't is really doing something about POVERTY
in Downtonw Eastside Vancouver when it isn't really.
When it comes to helping the Homeless, the Gov't is NOT!
in the picture: the Churches are. But their help is NOT only
UNCO-ORDINATED and HALFHEARTED, it benefits FEW!
people - about 500 people AT MOST.
It's BLATANTLY NOT SERIOUS.
It's VERY! SHABBY for a country as rich and prosperous
as Canada.
The CRUEL! REALITY is that there NOTHING! *substantial* for
the Poor and Homeles, just a LITTLE BIT OF THIS and a LITTLE
BIT OF THAT - pell-mell.
It's *clearly* NOT! enough: it's NOT EVEN the BARE MINIMUM.
The Churches should be the FIRST to be decrying this DISMAL
SITUATION from the pulpits if they cared about the Homeless
and the Poor, but they doN'T because THEY GET PAID BY
THE GOV'T for THE LITTLE BIT THEY DO to help the Poor
and Homeless.
For that reason the ÉPC (Égalité Party
of Canada) intends to
impose on them a 10-year 10% Punitive Religious Revenue
Tax on ALL! religious denominations.
And what does the Canadian MEDIA PEOPLE do about this
DREADFULL SITUATION?
THEY LOOK THE OTHER WAY to avoid seeing it.
Yet, HOW! THEY LIKE TO REVEL IN THEIR CYNICISM
regarding THE SYSTEM which they are aiding and abetting
by looking away.
Perhaps with the advent of DOMESTIC TERRORISM (which I
suspect we'll see towards the end of 2010) they'll start to
take notice that THE UNDERLYLING CAUSE of terrorism is
POVERTY. This recent terrorist bombings in New Delhi, India,
confirms this.
For the World to eliminate terrorism it needs to eliminate
POVERTY: today, with technology its doable.
The war we need to fight is the WAR ON POVERTY.
We doN'T fight POVERTY and Homelessness by doing
very little and looking the other way which has been till
now THE CANADIAN WAY.
The ÉPC (Égalté Party of Canada) plans
to ATTACK
POVERTY HEAD-ON! by making the Gov't TOP! priority
helping Canadians create their own small businesses
so they can become independently wealthy: this is
A PARADIGM SHIFT away from a LAW and ORDER
POLICE STATE to one where the emphasis is on JOB
CREATION via small business and PROSPERITY rather
than the Police and judicial/penal system.
It's A REVOLUTION.
BOYCOTT! the Elections
===================
If the Gov't doesN'T care about the POOR and the Homeless,
it MOST CERTAINLY doesN'T care about you either.
On Election Day show the Gov't that you DON'T CARE TO
VOTE by taking the day off and enjoying yourself.
SUPPORT! the ÉPC
================
For NO! POVERTY.
For 100% CLEAN! Gov't financially policed by Canadians
via the Internet, SUPPORT the ÉPC
(Égalté Party of Canada).
It's the ONLY! political party committed BOTH! to
REDISTRIBUTING THE WEALTH by DECRIMINALIZING
the Gov't in order to eliminate poverty and to helping
Canadians build their own small businesses so that
they can be independently wealthy.
