In my opinion, traditional Japanese cultural machoism does NOT allow Japanese men to make a big deal of their woman FIRSTLY, because it would be seen as a sign of weakness (Remember a man has to appear strong in the eyes of his woman.) and SECONDLY, it has been traditionally seen as unnecessary. Demonstrations of love by men in oriental culture has always been viewed as WEIRD and consequently, frowned on. This DEFINITELY needs to be "corrected" in this day and age where THE WOMEN COME FIRST and ALL MEN *MUST* DEMONSTRATE THAT BECAUSE the women give the children without which there is NO FUTURE. THE WOMEN HAVE THE POWER OF PROCREATION. It's A POWER SHIFT between the sexes that clearly, has long been overdue. :D Ken, Toronto, Canada
