GOOD TO SEE CHINA BEING FRIENDS WITH VIETNAM.

BOTH COUNTRIES I ADMIRE VERY MUCH (WHOSE 
FUTURE ARE THE BRIGHTEST) BECAUSE THEY PUT 
THE PEOPLE FIRST.

Incidentally, there are a lot of ethnic CHINESE in 
Vietnam.

THAT came to my attention in MY VERY FIRST CLASS 
OF MANDARIN IN 1978 GIVEN BY LI TAITAI who came 
Wednesday night from the University of Toronto to 
give the course in which there were 200 engineering, 
Vietnamese students, ALL CHINESE VIETNAMESE.

IN FACT, my very FIRST UNIVERSITY FRIEND was 
Vietnamese, Tho, a PhD. chemistry graduate 
who came to do postgraduate work at Ottawa 
University because he could NOT return to 
Vietnam on account of the war.

That was in the Summer of 1972.

There were 350 other Vietnamese students in the 
same situation who were organized by a fellow 
engineering student named Viet Viet.

I was impressed by their confidence they had in 
their future: in the end, they all went back in 
order to makeVietnam STRONG! :D
