The Arab Spring that started with the killing of GhadaffI was A TERRIBLE THING FOR NORTH AFRICA, but it achieved the intended U.S. effect of "choking" these countries economically + creating "enduring" chaos + hardship for North African countries. 

THE ONLY GOOD THING was Egypt outlawing of the U.S.-backed Muslim Brotherhood whose leader was sentenced to life in prison.
