Tracking things like in the supply chain is one thing and tracking
people is another. 

Remember the U.S Government TIA (Total Information Awareness)
database initiative? 

That was a "tracking mechanism".

TOO MUCH! tracking people will make the USA a POLICE STATE
in the Land of the Free where NO ONE is trusted and EVERYONE!
becomes a SUSPECT.

That was the end result of the Spanish Inquisition.

Do we need a repeat performance?

I think NOT.
